What is the BPP and why does it exist?

  • Effective AlternativeMany real estate agents spend hundreds – even thousands – of dollars a month with online advertising companies for very little return. They believe they must feature their listings on third-party sites, even though they don’t always see a healthy return on their investments. They feel like they have no choice because there are no options available. That’s why BPP was started. Consumers and professionals deserve better than what advertising-driven media companies offer today. Broker Public Portal with Homesnap is the industry’s turn to speak and provide an agent-centric, industry-first, pro-consumer way to secure listing exposure and leads for agents as an alternative to what advertising companies offer.
  • Broker Public Portal is a collaborative effort owned and operated by real estate brokerages and MLSs, to deliver, through Homesnap, a better home search experience, with the same comprehensive, real-time MLS data used by real professionals - the people who list and sell homes, not ads.

  • Broker Public Portal is the industry’s largest private marketing network of MLSs, representing 800,000 agents across the country, all contributing their listings to help generate listing exposure and leads from consumers nationwide.

  • The BPP by Homesnap is agent-centric, not advertising centric. It’s designed to help agents literally with the click of one-button invite their entire sphere to search for properties alongside them, making it much easier to create relationships long before a customer is ready to buy or sell.

  • No competing agents on listings. Broker Public Portal with Homesnap follows industry-defined Fair Display Guidelines: there are no display ads from other agents or brokers on one’s listings, and all inquiries are sent to the listing agent or broker for free.

  • Encourages Agent-to-Consumer and Agent-to-Agent Collaboration: BPP is designed to promote agent-to-consumer connections as early in the search process as possible, as well as consumer-to-agent collaboration. It also fosters agent-to-agent collaboration to make it easier to work side-by-side with clients to find the home of their dreams and to work more efficiently with fellow agents in setting up showings and answering client questions quickly. The Broker Public Portal is structured to encourage consumers to connect to an agent and nurture a relationship as they begin to search for homes, or evaluate the market.

  • This program is extremely cost-effective. Agents pay no additional fees to have their listings exposed to millions of consumers every day other than their regular MLS dues. Agent’s listings are available to consumers nationwide without advertising fees.

  • ALL Properties Included: BPP with Homesnap now features over 100 million property records and over 59 million active and sold listings.

BPP is Working, and it’s the REAL DEAL!

  • BPP offers something companies that sell ads do not: MLS and broker ownership that always puts industry stakeholders’ interests first!
  • BPP with Homesnap Grows Over 150% in its First Year.
Broker Public Portal (BPP) since its launch with Homesnap in January last year has grown from serving 45 Multiple Listing Services to more than 120 MLSs today, representing 800,000 real estate agents and brokers.

  • Largest private marketing network of real estate professionals! The Broker Public Portal by Homesnap has already created the most extensive private real estate marketing network and is delivering a myriad of ways for agents to effectively prospect to generate significant listing exposure and leads from consumers nationwide.

  • Agents and Consumers LOVE the BPP by Homesnap. Real estate agents have invited more than 19 million clients and contacts to access MLS listing data, and 8.5 million consumers have engaged with their agents through Homesnap.

  • The Pace of Adoption is Unprecedented: Adoption rates far exceed that of most broker-offered technology with MLSs reporting, on average, 40-50% adoption rates, with adoption rates unusually high among top-producing agents.

  • Agent and Consumer Satisfaction Levels are remarkably high. According to MLS member satisfaction surveys around the country, agent satisfaction of the Homesnap app offered is very high – much higher than other established mobile apps in the market that are provided by MLSs. Among consumers, Homesnap is the highest-rated mobile real estate app in the Apple App store.

  • The BPP is Generating Business Opportunities for Real Estate Pros!
In Chicago, one of the MLS leaders in the U.S., MRED, reports its member agents have already invited 1.5 million consumers in Chicagoland, and 750,000 consumers downloaded the app to connect with their agent. Homesnap is generating some 4,000 leads per month -- at no cost to MRED members.

  • Thousands of Business Opportunities are being delivered!
The Broker Public Portal is working! Homesnap has already delivered tens of thousands of leads to its participating agents and brokers - all covered by the cost of their MLS membership. None of the leads generated required the listing agent to pay any additional advertising fees; nobody had to buy a zip code, or pay to upgrade their profile to get all of these leads. All of this marketing exposure was available AS PART of their regular MLS dues.

  • Strong Ongoing product improvements and Marketing Campaigns
BPP reinvests all of the revenue it collects back into Homesnap product development, support, and marketing. Homesnap has a tremendous development team dedicated to providing continual product enhancements, usability improvements and better ways for agents to engage with consumers. BPP and Homesnap also partner to deliver compelling and targeted marketing campaigns to increase agent adoption and foster active consumer engagement continually.
  • Homesnap Pro delivers access to the MLS on the go for agents: A mobile app branded for each agent, featuring MLS agent-only listing information (sales history, agent deal flow, showing instructions, commission splits), a full MLS roster for agent-to-agent interaction, built-in private messaging to engage buyers and sellers, an agent safety timer, Rapid CMA, agent marketing tools and more.

Google Podcasts to Shut Down: How to Transfer Your Favorite Shows
Another day, another killed Google project. On April 2, Google is discontinuing its beloved podcast app, Google Podcasts, and sending it off to the great Google Graveyard. By shutting down the app, Google hopes to make its YouTube Music app the new destination for podcasts. By turning YouTube Music into its default podcast app, Google aims to make it easier for users to switch between video and audio podcast formats. While the hubbub across the web so far seems to be a hearty "meh" to this decision, Google Podcasts fans face just over a month to move their favorite shows to a new app. Google aims to make the transition as easy as possible for users — especially for those willing to migrate to YouTube Music. Here's a quick look at how to move your favorite podcasts out of Google Podcasts and into a new app: Migrating Your Favorite Podcasts Google offers easy, step-by-step directions for exporting your favorite shows — three different sets of directions, actually. Users can choose to transfer their shows to YouTube Music, export their subscriptions via Google Takeout or by downloading their podcast data via an OPML file. You can view instructions for each of these methods here. Alternative Podcast Apps If YouTube Music doesn't suit your podcast needs, there are plenty of other apps that will do the trick. Speaking of new apps, which podcast apps are available for agents to switch to? We're happy to report that there are a wealth of options. Here are a few of the top ones: Apple Podcasts Spotify Podbean Castbox Pocket Casts Overcast Player FM Podurama Podcast Guru AntennaPod Podcast Addict Real Estate Podcast Inspiration Need some more podcasts to listen to? Efficiency Meets Proficiency in RPR's Upgraded Mobile App
Last year, RPR (Realtors Property Resource) delivered some major new enhancements and upgraded products to REALTORS®. Read all about Shareable Market Trends, the Market Trends ScriptWriter and more in this 2023 product highlight article: Helping REALTORS® Navigate the Market: RPR 2023 Product Highlights. And as promised, we're picking up right where we left with another major upgrade to kick off the New Year. We've collected tons of user feedback and requests that drive these latest enhancements. Say "hello" to the rethought, revamped and refreshed RPR Mobile™ app! The RPR app: Less tapping – more doing! We know that time is a precious commodity for agents. Which is why the upgraded RPR app has been reimagined with one goal: to simplify your workflow. Helping users do more in less time is basically our unofficial mantra. The redesign is centered on making efficiency go hand-in-hand with proficiency. Here are some highlights of the upgraded RPR app We'll dive into more detail and show off some screenshots in just a bit, but first, here are some of the most important "headlines" to be aware of when it comes to the newly upgraded RPR application: Instant Search - Open the app, and you're set to start your search—no waiting, no extra taps. Navigate With Ease - Our sleek bottom tab bar gets you where you need to go, faster and smarter. All-in-One Searching - Jump between residential and commercial searches with just a tap. Specialty Search Tags - Perform specialty searches and refine your searches with visual tags. Reports at a Touch - View all of your recent reports or create new ones with just a tap. To see the upgraded RPR app in action, check out this quick-look video! A more detailed look at the new, upgraded RPR app The first thing you'll notice is a bright new login screen. Your app login credentials are the same as signing onto the RPR website. The map in the RPR app is your new home screen Welcome home! Right off the bat you'll see that the RPR map search is now the new home screen. It will show your current location on the map, and from here, you can skip the scrolling and quickly start searching for properties! The search bar at the top of screen is where you'll enter specific addresses, area names, listing ID, APN, tax ID, or the owner name to begin a search. Just below you can also easily go from Residential to Commercial property searches with just a tap. In this search view, a new feature you might find helpful is specialty search tags, where users can search using special filters, such as Owner Name, Open House and Distressed. (Just hit the "x" on the tab to close it out.) Tap onto any property pin (we've also increased the number of map pins shown on the screen to 500 – that's 10 times more!) to see the Property Details. Also be sure to try out this new feature: swipe up from the bottom to browse through a List View of the properties shown on the map. Tap "More" (previously called "Map Actions") in the lower right corner to bring up a menu of map options, including Distance points, Traffic numbers, Parcel boundaries, Schools info and more. The new navigation bar: We raised the bar – by lowering it! At the bottom of your app screen is the new nav bar. It includes "Search," with a magnifying glass icon, all the way to the left. Again, Search is now the default home screen and where you'll start using the app. Working your way to the right, we now have a tab called "My Work." This is where you'll find all of your saved work and property counts by status, including Listing Counts, My Listings, My Saved properties, My Recent searches, an area for notes, and more. Next is a button for "Trends." This is simply an abbreviation for the RPR Market Trends, where users can search specific areas, such as ZIP codes, and get up-to-date stats, charts and graphs for a given area. This includes important market data such as Months of Inventory, List to Sold Price percentages, Median Sold Price and more. Agents can also share these stats and numbers directly to their favorite social media channels or download the images to include in emails, texts, websites or print materials. One spot over is the button for "Reports." Here you can create, view, share, and/or delete residential and commercial reports with just a few taps. Another great new feature: the Reports list screen now contains residential and commercial reports in the same list–no need to navigate between Residential and Commercial mode. All the way to the right in the nav bar is the "Menu" button. This area is what was previously shown when the cog wheel was tapped. It contains a ton of useful options to fine-tune your browsing and user preferences, including accessing your Profile, Notifications (App updates and news), User Settings, RPR Access, MLS/CIE Sources, Legal, Tour Link (explains the new navigation), how to mail RPR, how to call RPR, a link to RPR Connect (our user group Facebook page), and how to add RPR to your contacts. With the new, upgraded RPR app, agents will search smarter – not harder With the upgraded version of the RPR app, agents will start searching and start working for their clients right from the get go! Make sure you download, update and open it up to experience all the helpful new changes. There's also a special Welcome Guide that will walk you through the new features when agents install or update the app. Be sure to check it out and start putting the app to your advantage today!
